Programs for Infants and Toddlers

Infants and Toddlers

We believe that from the moment of birth, children are forming ideas about this world through their experiences with it. We believe that our youngest children need opportunities to explore the world in a safe, comfortable and stimulating environment that nurtures the development of each child’s unique personality and lays a foundation for all later learning.

An essential part of this early experience is the opportunity to establish relationships with others. Our teachers establish respectful and responsive relationships with each child in our care through a primary caregiving system. Our teachers get to know each child’s interests, passions, and idiosyncrasies. Materials and experiences are planned with each child's unique interests and skills in mind.

"I have never wondered if ITC was the right decision-I am only and constantly blown away by the atmosphere, the activities and the teachers."  Infant/toddler parent

We are committed to offering a welcoming, safe yet inspiring learning space for all of our children and their families. We feel that parents’ concerns and family needs are important and central ot the partnership we hope to forge. We intend to provide a beautiful environment, with natural and intriguing materials for children to enjoy and explore. Our focus will be on following children’s deep interests. We will use observation, reflection and documentation to show us how to support them on their learning journey.

All the members of the 2/3 classroom , teachers and children, will take a journey together.  This journey will be built upon exploring our environment together.  Our goal is to provide a safe, supportive environment where children can meaningfully construct new knowledge through their work.  As teachers, we will celebrate with the children their discoveries as well as their challenges.  This will be expanded through social experiences supported by teachers as children encounter their environment.  We will foster language development and the ability to practice new as well as old skills through encounters with the environment, peers and teachers.
