The magic of colored tape
Rolls of colored masking tape are magic! Turn your older infant, toddler or preschooler loose with pieces of colored tape and paper or simply tape directly to a table top or high chair tray. Handling and ripping the tape are good activities for small motor skill development. Using a variety of colors is a fun way to learn color names and to experiment with design. Try painting or coloring over the taped areas and then lifting the tape off to see the white shapes left behind (be sure to use sturdy paper). Sometimes, simple materials are best!
